Preliminary Program

Objectives of this program include;

1) Review latest methods for diagnosis, staging and therapies for cancer

2) Provide direct exposure to clinical activities at Boston Medical Center with participants observing in the clinical setting (including the operating room).

3) Review of minimally invasive therapies for treatment of tumors involving the head and neck, thoracic cavity and abdomen

4) Compare and contrast delivery of o­ncological care in the Boston Medical Center Population, United States and in Brazil


Preliminary Schedule

Tuesday, September 7th:

8 – 8.20 AM- Welcome and overview of program (Santos/Fernando)

8.20-9.00 AM- Lung cancer program for the Boston Medical Center Population - Ben Daly

9.00-9.45 AM- SBRT and lung cancer- Greg Russo

10-12 AM – Hospital tour (groups)

1- 2  PM – Interval

2 - 4   PM -  Group activities

4 - 5   PM –Lisa  Kachnic (lecture of choice) 

7 PM- Welcome reception at meeting Hotel


Wednesday, September 8th

8 -AM – Robotics for Otolaryngology - Jane Mendez; Greg Grillone

7-9pm PM – Boston University Medical Center Band and Berklee musicians performing at the Baskt Auditorium;  Closing function
